A saturnian herb associated with Dionysian madness. Hellebore was used in ritual magic to both summon and dispel spirits. It is traditionally associated with Medusa via the fixed star Algol according to Agrippa. Hellebore is also known as lenten rose or black hellebore, because of its dark roots and early blooming. It is an herb of monstrous growth and transformation.
